Do not use a mercury thermometer (potential for cross contamination). I like the subcutaneous infrared temporal artery scanners made by Exergen, available at most drug stores. They sell in the high teens, low twenties.
To be classified as "metabolically dead" your temperature will fall within the 95 to 97 degree range. Boot camp fat burning range is between 98.2 to 99. If your early morning core temperature is below the optimal zones this indicates the need for the Metabolic Flame-thrower (see recipes, access denied to the public). Low core temperature suggests endocrine suppression which is a major wall for our Boot campers to get over. Let's do an inventory on the things that can cripple our metabolic axis.
Adrenal fatigue: The over use of stimulants such as energy drinks, coffee, and allergy medications forces our adrenal glands to "steal" from the pituatary, thyroid,and gondal tissues which in turn lowers our metabolic states allowing large amounts of weight to accumulate with very little food intake. Solution: for the next thirty days mix your Am blend with Ginseng tea, cut with low sugar cranberry juice (refer to recipe section reference adrenal fatigue cocktail).
Drug induced-Endocrine Suppression:Chronic exposure (longer than 90 days) to antibiotics,antihistimines, and anitdepressants can, and eventually will, cripple the metabolic axis leading to massive amounts of weight gain with very little caloric intake. I find that Boot campers on these types of medications have difficulty keeping up with the rest of their platoon. They lose 1 pound of fat for every 3.5 pounds of fat their fellow soldiers burn off. This is very discouraging to them. Never compare your results with other Boot campers! Place faith in God's truth and walk with obedience. You will be blessed. The good news is that many boot campers can eventually go off these medications (with the help of their M.D.) and experience a massive metabolic surge during which period I have personally witnessed a pound of fat loss per day for these freed slaves.
Food- induced Endocrine Supression: Soybean, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, peaches, pears, fluorinated water and using fluorinated toothpaste is forbidden while in Boot camp. Substances found within these compounds can accumulate within our bodies leading to a retardation of communication between the segments of the metabolic axis. Beware of protein shakes that use soybean as the main source of protein. For your protein islands, I highly recommend Muscle Milk which can be purchased at most natural food stores.
By feeding your metabolic axis with the AM & PM blends and by avoiding endocrine suppressors you will find that your energy states will skyrocket and your body fat will be vaporized.
